learn more about alpaca patterns

Belacaro's patterns collection brings together jacquard knitwear designed for spring and summer wear, made in Québec, Canada. This collection includes houndstooth and cow-print styles in a variety of styles, like a sleeveless apron and a pareo skirt, each developed around the idea of modularity and easy, everyday layering.

The fiber

Each piece is made from an 85% Supima cotton / 15% baby alpaca blend, chosen for its spring and summer qualities. Supima cotton brings lightness, breathability and a cool hand feel. Baby alpaca contributes natural drape, subtle softness and the thermoregulating properties that make it comfortable across varying temperatures. Together, the two fibers produce a knit that feels fresh and easy to wear without sacrificing structure or refinement.

We work with a responsibly accredited yarn supplier, with certifications including Oeko-Tex and Peru Fair Trade.

The craft

Every piece in this collection is knitted in jacquard, a technique that constructs the pattern directly into the fabric using two yarns simultaneously, never printed or applied on top. Jacquard knitting is relatively rare in knitwear and demands precise construction at every row, whether the motif is geometric like houndstooth or irregular like the cow print. Each piece is fully fashioned and assembled by hand in our Québec workshop, made to order and never produced in series.

For the wearer

Warm-weather knitwear with a distinctive character. These pieces layer naturally over everyday clothing and bring a considered, unhurried approach to seasonal dressing. Made to be worn often, kept longer and repaired over time, with lifetime repairs offered for every piece.
